The Seaford Neighbourhood Plan is written by the local community, rather than the Local Planning Authority.

Lewes District Council has given Seaford a housing target to find a minimum of 185 dwellings by 2030.

Seaford residents can say: where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built; what new buildings should look like; what infrastructure should be provided and where green spaces should be retained.

Seaford Town Council's vision is that, by 2030, Seaford will have:
· made greater use of the seafront, heritage assets and its position as a gateway to the National Park;
· promoted sympathetic development;
· improved the economic environment;
· retained open spaces and the spectacular views;
· improved the transport infrastructure;
· expanded the rich and diverse shops, businesses, and community and tourist facilities.

STC has analysed 1, 100 Survey Forms completed by residents; held a public consultation meeting (last November); published Draft Evidence Reports and Working Papers; consulted many local groups, and analysed many questionnaires.

The plan is about the use and development of land and collecting evidence on local social, economic and environmental conditions.

Information has been collected by the STC team on many sites in the town, and over 70 sites are being examined in great detail, including their suitability for designation as Local Green Spaces.

The team is also considering: how the historic and natural environment can be improved, (including facilities for recreation and sport); how businesses can be best supported; whether the infrastructure is adequate and what improvements can be made in transport and travel.

Before STC drafts the plan, resident's views are requested on STC's proposals for:
· development sites and designation of Local Green Spaces
· views to safeguard
· design guidance
· enhancing the environment, facilities and transport.

There will be further consultation on the draft plan itself before it is examined by an Independent Examiner and finally the plan will be the subject of a referendum early in 2018.

In 1964, a new phenomenon exploded onto the dingy British streets. It was the essence of all that was cool. It was Mod. Mods stuck two fingers up at the class-ridden society and its dull redundant culture. They were working-class free spirits who rode sexy streamlined Italian Vespas or Lambrettas.

The sharpest Mod of all was known as a 'FACE'.

The Small Faces encapsulated all that is Mod, a unique blend of taste and testosterone, neat, clothes obsessed and street-wise. But these cult sophisticates shared another passion, their dedication to Rhythm 'n' Blues. This 'Mod' Musical is a trans-generational musical experience celebrating the unique sound of the iconic Mod band, The Small Faces.

Featuring the music of the Small Faces, including an arsenal of brilliant hits like Whatcha Gonna Do About It, Lazy Sunday, Tin Soldier, Sha La La La Lee, Itchycoo Park and of course All Or Nothing.

Matinee on the 15th at 2.30pm.

Time: 7:45pm
Where: Devonshire Park Theatre, Compton Road BN21 4BW
Town: Eastbourne

It's Brighton, 1963. Skiffle bands, East-End Gangsters, an 87 year old waiter with balance problems and one man with two needy bosses are set on a collision course in this frenetic comedy.

From the National Theatre 'One Man Two Guvnors' went on to dominate the West End and Broadway; now this exquisite British comedy makes its Eastbourne Premiere for a perfect slice of irrepressible fun this summer.

A dash of pantomime, a whiff of music hall and a dollop of lunacy combine in this ludicrous plot with music, physical comedy and one-liners in a veritable tour de 'farce'.

Based on the classic Italian comedy, 'The Servant of Two Masters' by Carlo Goldoni and adapted by Richard Bean, with original songs and music by Grant Olding.

First 2 nights £19 all seats (no concessions/discounts apply), Monday - Thursday Evenings £19, £20, £22.50, £24.50; Friday & Saturday Evenings £19, £21, £24.50, £26.50; Wednesday Matinee (2.30pm) £19 all seats; Saturday Matinee (also 2.30pm) £19, £22.

Date: Tuesday 11 July 2017
Time: 7:30pm
Where: Upstairs at Newhaven Lifeboat Station, Riverside S, BN9 9BT
Town: Newhaven

There was a time when 'to harp' meant to speak, when harpers travelled the length and breadth of the country telling stories and singing songs. As they travelled, the stories and the songs they carried with them were shaped by the places they went, by the roads they took and by the very wind that blew about them. Over the last 15 years Nick Hennessey (Storyteller and musician) has been developing a vibrant and exciting style of performance harpers of old would recognize.
